The housing question is one of the main challenges of our time. Surprisingly, there is a research gap in the field of sociology on one of the main actors in the housing market who literally hold the keys to housing: Small-scale landlords. What factors have led to renting? What courses of action and strategies form the day-to-day rental operation? How do landlords view and stand on the housing question? From April 2024 (until 2027), we; Nicole Burzan and Philipp Kadelke will investigate these and other questions using both quantitative and qualitative methods.
