The school subject of General Studies deals with a variety of subject contents, perspectives and scientific reference disciplines. Accordingly, the subject of General Studies is organized in an interdepartmental study program, in which the following reference disciplines and subjects are involved: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, History, Physics, Political Science, Sociology, Technology, and the Didactics of General Studies.

The Bachelor's program emphasizes broad subject-specific training in the reference disciplines with regard to basic concepts and their application/deepening.

The Master's program has a strong didactic emphasis and also focuses on linking theory and practice.
