The Faculty of Social Sciences welcomes Prof. Aladin El-Mafaalani

Prof.  Aladin El-Mafaalani has been Professor of Sociology of Migration and Education at the Faculty of Social Sciences at TU Dortmund University since April 1. The sociologist has now held his inaugural lecture and gave an outlook on the questions and topics he would like to research at our faculty in the future.

There was a large crowd in Lecture Hall 2 at Emil-Figge-Straße 50 late on Wednesday afternoon (08.05.2024), with numerous students, staff and guests attending Prof. Aladin El-Mafaalani's inaugural lecture. After a warm welcome by Dean Nicole Burzan, Professor El-Mafaalani presented his current and future research projects to the audience under the title "Superdiverse Childhoods in an Ageing Society", which addressed his main research areas of education, integration and racism.

The Faculty warmly welcomes Professor El-Mafaalani and looks forward to working with him.
