Ageing in society is a global megatrend. How can self-determined ageing be made possible for all? How can generationally appropriate social participation be shaped in ageing societies? The twelve funded doctoral projects will examine these questions from a multi-methodological and interdisciplinary perspective. In cooperation with the Center for Higher Education (zhb) and the Department of Spatial Planning, eight professors are involved in the new research group: Prof. Martina Brandt and Prof. Mona Motakef from the Department of Social Sciences are the spokespersons of the research group. Also involved are Prof. Nicole Burzan, Prof. Jürgen Howaldt (Social Research Center), Prof. Angelika Poferl and Prof. Monika Reichert, also from the Department of Social Sciences, as well as Prof. Susanne Frank from the Department of Spatial Planning and Prof. Uwe Wilkesmann from the zhb.
Graduates of sociology and related subjects such as political and cultural sciences, gerontology, nursing sciences, gender studies, urban development, spatial planning, and educational sciences with a social science orientation are eligible to apply. With its scholarships, the Hans Böckler Foundation supports junior scientists of all disciplines who are exceptionally qualified or committed to trade unions or socio-political issues.
