2026 Retreat in Berlin

This year’s retreat also served as an opportunity for professional exchange on the progress of the fellows’ doctoral dissertations and for collegial fellowship. The participants presented new insights, key findings, and the next steps in their doctoral projects in the areas of nursing, dementia, infrastructure, queer aging, and the concept of generations.

In addition, visits to two research institutions central to the research group provided opportunities for further discussion and networking related to social policy: At the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA), the focus was on the topic of “Work and Aging.” At the German Center for Aging Research (DZA), presentations included the German Aging Survey (DEAS) as well as current research projects on the development of housing cost burdens over the life course.
