The report entitled “Growing old in Germany - Diversity of potential and inequality of participation opportunities” shows the diversity of life situations of older people and how their participation opportunities are unequally distributed as a result.
Central topics:
- Material situation, gainful employment, social participation and health care in old age
- Interaction of inequality characteristics that lead to disadvantage at an individual level
- Causes and manifestations of age discrimination
- Focus particularly on older people with a history of migration and older LGBTI people
Prof. Dr. Martina Brandt has been working on the report with ten experts since 2022 in order to map the diverse life situations of older people in Germany.
