New study on ChatGPT's climate narrative

AI chatbots are used for educational purposes, among other things, which means they can also influence people's knowledge and perception of current issues.

In their new article, Bernd Sommer and Sarah von Querfurth analyze stories about climate change that were generated by ChatGPT. It turns out that although the stories correspond to the scientific consensus, only certain aspects of current debates are depicted. In particular, the social dimensions of questions of causation, vulnerability or mitigation remain underexposed.
